Indian Head Massage
This technique is based on the Ayurvedic healing system and has been practised for over a thousand years. Traditionally, the Indian Head Massage was restricted just to the head and hair, and carried out by women in India. The techniques were extended by Narendra Mehta, as described in his book, to include neck, shoulders and upper arms.
This wonderful massage technique not only helps to unknot muscles and relieve muscular tension, but it calms the body, relieves stress and promotes relaxation. As the scalp is massaged, it stimulates the circulation and nourishes the hair roots, with regular treatments this massage can help to reduce hair loss.
The Indian Head Massage can also reduce anxiety, provide relief from mental tiredness, and fight depression by stimulating the release of endorphins to the brain.
